Marie Laurencin
Her early work was greatly influenced by the flat shapes and rhythms that artists like Picasso, Braque and other leaders of the modern art movement had introduced. Later in her career her subject matter was often a single female or a group of females usually dressed in pastel pink and blue. Her paintings have a feminine and dreamy ambiance that many art collectors find charming. Marie Laurencin died in 1956 at the age of 71. (1885 – 1956)
